Subject: Too late they are already here. Posted By: John Sonnenberg Date: February 09, 1999 at 01:01:20
It is always interesting to me to see educators debate the obvious, notebooks, internet, etc. They are already here. They are successful. They are our children's future. For years I have studied this issue. Wrote a paper on it in 1985. My 14 year old daughter just laughs. "When are the schools going to realize that all they are doing his hurting the kids that are being forced not to adapt?" Educators, for example, debated over ballpoint pens. Now it is notebooks. It is cheaper, better, there are studies (AAL have some good studies.) Parents are already buying the technology for the home, so they would be trilled to have the schools be proactive and do a group buy to save them $$$. In two years there will be two kinds of schools. Those with portable technology integrated into a dynamic curriculum and those that will be getting new administrators.
