Wow! Why does it sound like you're being accusatory of schools that have embraced the benefits of technology to improve their students access to information that is not necessarily within their physical realm. There are many educational opportunities afforded by technology -- whether it's tutorials and "games" that help students master basics like adding, subtracting, and spelling for example or whether it's allowing students to experience current events like access images from Mars via the NASA site that support their scientific study of earth sciences, biology, chemistry or physics.
Yes, I agree that blindly using technology within thinking about how to integrate it effectively in the curriculum is nonsense, but don't insult those educators who have identified valuable and unique ways to integrate the technology to make sure their lessons appeal to as many learning styles as possible!
