I agree. My grandaughter (grade 4) uses a computer extensively to obtain information that is updated and accurate to supplement what is taught from "traditional textbooks." I believe the laptop idea is a great one - but don't overlook the use of the printed word (from textbooks, softbacks, etc.) from all other sources.
