Robert Alvey, Jr.
President

Robert (Bob) Alvey, Jr., serves as the 2012 TSBA President and has served as the 2011 TSBA President-elect and the Southwest District Director on the TSBA Board of Directors from 2009-2010. Bob has been a member of the Jackson-Madison County Board of Education since 2002, and has served previously as the Chairman of his Board.

He has served as his School Board TLN Representative, a FRN Representative, and a member of the TLN Board of Directors for 4 years. Bob has achieved Level V/Master Board Member status in the TSBA Boardsmanship Program, was named to the All Tennessee School Board for 2010, and has received the NSBA Distinguished Service Award.

He is a graduate of Tennessee Technological University with B.S. and M.S. Degrees in Electrical Engineering and works for the Procter and Gamble Company in the Household Care Business Unit. He currently serves as the Director for the Jackson Area Wide Soccer Association and attends Englewood Baptist Church where he serves as a Deacon and Youth Sunday School Teacher.

Bob is married (Amy) and has two children: Meredith, a 2010 graduate of Auburn University, and Rob, who attends Union University.

Dr. Tammy Grissom
Executive Director

Dr. Tammy Grissom is the executive director of the Tennessee School Boards Association. She has been with TSBA for 21 years, most recently serving as the associate executive director. She oversees the day-to-day operations of the association. She serves as the liaison to the State Department's School Board Academy Advisory Board. She has also served as an adjunct professor at Nashville State Technical Institute.

Grissom has a bachelor's degree and teaching certificate in Business Education from Belmont College and a master's degree as well as her doctorate in Education Administration and Supervision from Tennessee State University. She is married with two children.
